Dead calm in the Russian apple market
According to Fruit-Inform, despite Russian apple market participants' expectations and closer New Year holidays, apple sales remain weak in the country.
This week, the majority of importers said of trade having almost stopped with the supply of domestic and imported apples being abundant that frustrated suppliers' hopes of a pre-holiday increase in prices.
Moscow distribution centers currently ship Moldovan apples at 0.50-0.55 euro/kg, prices of Polish produce vary between 0.63-0.68 euro/kg, while Russian winter apple varieties are offered at 0.50-0.65 euro/kg.
