Bulgaria halves grape exports to Russia
From July to October this year, Bulgaria exported 9,200 tonnes of grapes to Russia that was half of exports in the same period of the previous season.
According to Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, Bulgaria has been steadily decreasing its grape exports to Russia in the past 3 seasons. For example, in the season 2011/12 Bulgaria's exports reached just 26,700 tonnes, while in the season 2009/10 Bulgaria had exported 38,200 tonnes of grapes to Russia.
Nevertheless, such trends do not prevent Bulgaria from being one of the leading grape suppliers of the Russian Federation. Currently Bulgaria ranks fourth in grape exports to Russia and is behind only Turkey, Uzbekistan and Moldova.
