China loses to Poland in apple exports to Kazakhstan

Despite a significant increase in Chinese apple exports to Kazakhstan, China did not manage to stand competition with Poland in the Kazakh market. As a result, Chinese exporters had to yield the second place in exports to Kazakhstan to Polish competitors in autumn 2012. Kyrgyzstan still remains the largest apple exporter to Kazakhstan.

In September-November 2012, Kazakh companies imported 6,400 tonnes of Polish apples, while imports from China reached just 4,500 tonnes.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan managed to raise its position in apple exports to Kazakhstan too. In autumn 2011 this country had been the fifth largest apple exporter to Kazakhstan, while in September-November 2012 Azerbaijan left Moldova behind and ranked fourth.

We would remind you that Polish exporters increased export volumes thank to higher apple production in the country. In the season 2012/13, Polish growers produced almost 2,9 mln tonnes of these fruits.
