Italy increases grape exports to Russia
Italy raised its grape exports to Russia by 28% in the first 5 months of the season 2012/13.
According to Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, the country imported 12,900 tonnes of Italian grapes in the period from July to November 2012, while in the same period of 2011 imports had reached just 9,300 tonnes.
At the same time, despite higher exports, Italy did not manage to improve its position among grape exporters to Russia. As in the previous season, Italy remains fifth largest supplier. Turkey, Uzbekistan and Moldova entered the group of top three largest grape exporters to Russia in the first 5 months of the season 2012/13.
