Kazakhstan's imports of Chinese apples up in February

According to the official statistical data, Kazakhstan imported about 3,800 tonnes of Chinese apples in February 2013, an increase of 27% from 3,000 tonnes of imports in the same month of 2012.

Kazakhstan's cumulative imports of Chinese apples over the first 8 months of the current season grew by 50% year-on-year to 18,000 tonnes. In such a way, China accounted for 20% of Kazakhstan's total apple imports. However, Chinese exports to Kazakhstan over the first 8 months of the season 2012/13 were the lowest in the past 5 years.
