Ukraine's imports of Polish apples record low in March
According to State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the country imported about 4,000 tonnes of Polish apples in March 2013, one fifth of exports in March 2012 and record low result for this month.
Ukraine's cumulative imports of apples from Poland over the first nine months of the current season also reached record low 26,800 tonnes, a third of imports over the same period of the season 2011/12.
Despite significantly lower exports, Poland remains the leader in apple shipments to Ukraine. Poland's share in Ukraine's total apple imports over the first nine months of the season 2012/13 amounted to 92%.
