Poland: apple exports to Russia record high in March

According to Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, Russia's imports of Polish apples reached 98,000 tonnes in March 2013, the highest result over the past 5 years and an increase of 26% from the same month of the previous year.

Poland's cumulative exports of apples to Russia over the first 9 months of the season 2012/13 doubled year-on-year and stood at 480,000 tonnes, also the highest result for this period over the past 5 seasons. In addition, Poland has been annually increasing apple exports to Russia and remains the leading exporter for the fifth season in a row.
