Russian growers reduce apple prices
Russian growers keep on reducing apple prices in view of an increase in supply of middle-early varieties in the market.
Current prices vary between RUB 15-20/kg (EUR 0.34-0.46/kg), a decrease of 25-35% from the previous week. However, prices did not change on a year-on-year basis.
Prices of imported apples of premium quality also became lower. Importers connect a decrease in prices with a traditional fall in demand for expensive apples against a background of higher supply of domestic produce and abundant supply other seasonal fruits in the market.
We would remind you that more detailed information on the Russian and Ukrainian apple market developments will be presented at the 3rd International Conference “Apple Business of Ukraine & Russia – 2013”, which is to take place on August 15-16, 2013, Donetsk, Ukraine.
