Chile lowers apple exports to Russia
Chile shipped 32,000 tons of apples to the Russian Federation in the season 2012/13, a decrease of 14% year-on-year and the lowest result over the past 4 seasons. For comparison, Russia imported 37,000 tons of Chilean apples in the season 2011/12.
However, despite lower exports, Chile have managed to remain the seventh largest exporter of apples to the Russian Federation for the second season in a row.
We would remind you that Chilean exporters have announced their plans to reduce exports to Russia and Europe due to the markets of Middle East, Far East and USA being more attractive for them.
More detailed information on the Russian and Ukrainian apple market developments will be presented at the 3rd International Conference “Apple Business of Ukraine & Russia – 2013”, which is to take place on August 15-16, 2013, Donetsk, Ukraine.
