Russia: minimal imports of Dutch apples in 2012/13
According to Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, the country imported record low 12,000 tons of Dutch apples in the season 2012/13, a decrease of a third from the previous season, when imports had reached 29,000 tons.
In such a way, the Netherlands ranked 13th in apple exports to Russia, while a season ago the country was the 10th largest exporter of apples to the Russian Federation.
Fruit-Inform analysts connect a decrease in Dutch exports with a fall of about 25% in the Netherlands' apple production.
We would remind you that more detailed information on the Russian and Ukrainian apple market developments will be presented at the 3rd International Conference “Apple Business of Ukraine & Russia – 2013”, which is to take place on August 15-16, 2013, Donetsk, Ukraine.
