Lower prices of fresh apples in Ukraine
Fresh apples become less expensive in Ukraine, according to Fruit-Inform. Ukrainian farms ship apples at UAH 2-7/kg (EUR 0.19-0.69/kg), depending on variety, quality and sales channel. Farmers offer low-quality apples of summer varieties to the internal market operators at UAH 2.00-3.50/kg (EUR 0.19-0.34/kg). Produce of higher quality is sold at UAH 4-7/kg (EUR 0.39-0.69/kg), depending on variety, both in the domestic market and for export. Under conditions of a seasonal increase in supply in the internal market and moderate exports, farmers face troubles with maintaining price levels. Some growers have already said that they were ready to reduce prices by 5-10% this week.
We would remind you that more detailed information on the Ukrainian apple market developments will be presented at the 3rd International Conference “Apple Business of Ukraine & Russia – 2013”, which is to take place on August 15-16, 2013, Donetsk, Ukraine.
