Russia sharply increases imports of Uzbek apricots

According to Fruit-Inform, Russia sharply raised imports of Uzbek apricots in 2013. In particular, imports in June 2013 have tripled year-on-year. Thanks to that, Uzbekistan became the leader in apricot exports to the Russian Federation and left its main competitors (Turkey and Armenia) behind.

In June 2013 Turkey has lowered its apricot exports to Russia by 38% year-on-year, while Armenia raised them by 54%. Greece, Spain, Moldova, Poland and China also exported significant volumes.

We would remind you that more detailed information about the Russian fruit and vegetable import and production structure will be presented at the 6th International Conference “Fruit & Vegetable Business of Russia – 2013”, which is to be held on September 17, 2013, in conjunction with World Food Moscow 2013 Exhibition, Expocentre Fairgrounds, Moscow.
