Italy lowers grape exports to Russia
Italy has lowered grape exports to the Russian Federation in the beginning of the season 2013/14.
In July-August 2013, Italian exporters shipped just 2,000 tons of grapes to Russia, a decrease of a third from the same period of the previous season and record low result over the past 4 seasons. For comparison, in July-August 2012, Russia purchased record high 3,000 tons of Italian grapes.
On the other side, Italy has significantly raised its grape exports to the Russian Federation in the season 2012/13. Cumulative exports reached 16,000 tons, an increase of 60% year-on-year, and Italy ranked eighth among grape exporters to Russia.
