Ukraine: apple juice prices up year-on-year
Ukrainian juice factories say of an increase of 10% in prices of apple juice year-on-year. For example, current selling prices of apple juice average 1.40 euro/jar (3 liters), while in the same period of the previous season prices averaged 1.25 euro/jar.
The market participants connect the situation with higher prices in the raw produce market. For the present, apples for processing are purchased by juice factories at 0.09 euro/kg. For comparison, in the same period of the previous year apples were shipped at about 0.08 euro/kg.
Nevertheless, processors believe that current price levels of apple juice are relatively low due to abundant supply of apple juice in Ukraine and moderate demand both in the domestic and foreign markets.
