Ukraine: fruit and vegetable prices more than double year-on-year
Fruit-Inform's Ukrainian fresh produce price index as of November 01, 2013, shows that fruits and vegetables have become 103.4% more expensive year-on-year.
“Vegetables have made the largest contribution to the price growth in the country”, says Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. “Greenhouse vegetables became 30.1% more expensive, and prices of traditional vegetables were 2.1 times of those registered last year. Potato prices grew by 220% year-on-year”.
At the same time, fruit prices slightly decreased. As of November 01, 2013, fruits were 7.5% less expensive compared with the same period of 2012.
