Pear prices go down at Ukrainian wholesale markets
Pears have been becoming less expensive in Ukraine, according to Fruit-Inform price monitoring.
In particular, current prices of pears at Kopani Wholesale Market (Kherson region, South of Ukraine) average UAH 9.50/kg (EUR 0.88/kg), a decrease of 14% week-on-week. In early November 2012, pear prices at that market were almost similar to the current levels.
Pears became 17% less expensive compared with the previous week at Krymskiy Privoz Wholesale Market (Crimea region, South of Ukraine) and now are sold at UAH 15/kg (EUR 1.39/kg).
As regards Kiev, pear prices at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market average UAH 10/kg (EUR 0.93/kg), a decrease of 17% week-on-week. A year ago prices were 38% higher there.
At the same time, pear prices did not change compared with the previous week at Ozerka Wholesale Market (Dnipropetrovsk region, center of Ukraine) and stand at UAH 12/kg (EUR 1.11/kg), which is 70% higher year-on-year.
