Russia's imports of apple butter up

According to Federal State Statistics Service of Russia, the country keeps on increasing imports of apple butter.

In the first three months of the season 2013/14, the Russian Federation imported 8,000 tons of apple butter, an increase of 14% year-on-year and the highest result for that period ever. For comparison, imports in July-September 2012 reached just 7,000 tons of apple butter.

We would remind you that Russian importers purchased 26,000 tons of apple butter in the season 2012/13, an increase of 15% year-on-year, with Chile, Iran, Latvia and China being the largest exporters.
