Ukraine: prices of apple butter up
The Ukrainian market participants say of positive price performance in the apple butter sector. Prices have risen by 3-4% compared with early November 2013.
For the present, apple butter is offered at 0.59-0.62 euro/kg, while a month ago prices varied between 0.57-0.59 euro/kg.
Processors connect an increase in prices with higher manufacturing costs. An increase of 17% in sugar prices compared with last month was the main factor for positive price performance in the apple butter market.
Furthermore, the market participants expect an increase in apple butter prices to remain in effect in case of further growth in prices in the raw products market.
