60,100 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables exported from Armenia this year
According to Arka News Agency, Armenia has exported 60,100 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables this year by December 12, Mr. Robert Makaryan, Deputy Agriculture Minister of the country, said on Friday.
“This figure is greater than that of the previous year by 30,500 tons,” he said.
According to him, apricots dominated the country’s fruit and vegetable export this year: some 23,000 tons of apricots were sent abroad this year against the previous year’s 12,000 tons.
Armenia also exported 6,800 tons of grapes, 980 tons of peaches, 633 tons of apples, 610 tons of cherries and 27,000 tons of vegetables, including 20,500 tons of potatoes.
Mr. Makaryan also said that fruits and vegetables sent to Russia made up two-thirds of Armenia’s exported this year.
The Deputy Minister mentioned Georgia, Ukraine, Iraq and Turkmenistan as the countries which imported Armenian fruits and vegetables this year.
