Armenia: onion and garlic exports up in 2013
According to Armenpress, Armenia's exports of onions and garlic totaled 389,1 tons in 2013, an increase of 145,5% compared with the previous year.
The Russian Federation was the largest target market for Armenian onions and garlic with the import volumes standing at 385 tons.
Together with higher exports, Armenia reduced imports of onions and garlic by 9% to 7,400 tons valued at about $3 mln.
Iran and Georgia were the key exporters of those products to Armenia in 2013 with the shares of 55% and 27%, respectively.
