Russia reduces imports of Iranian raisins

The Russian Federation has sharply reduced imports of Iranian raisins in the current season.

The import volumes over July 2013 – January 2014 totaled just 4,400 tons, while imports in the same period of the previous season were three and a half times of the current volumes.

Due to a decrease in exports, Iran was just the third largest exporter of raisins to Russia, while in the same period of the previous season the country had been the leader. For the present, Iran has exported less raisins then Chile and Afghanistan.
