Ukrainian processors able to dispense with Crimean raw fruits

Representatives of Ukrainian fruit processing factories will be able to dispense with raw fruits from Crimea.

The majority of processors usually purchase fruits for processing in their own or neighboring regions due to economical factors. Crimean apples and stonefruits were purchased on an as-needed basis. Even those processing factories, which have purchased large volumes of raw fruits from Crimea, say that they will be able to compensate them by fruits from other southern and central regions of Ukraine.

Furthermore, as regards peach processing, the majority of Ukrainian processors prefer to import raw concentrated puree from Greece, Chile, Spain and Turkey. Ukrainian fruit growers produce mainly white varieties of peaches, while processors' suppliers in other countries most often prefer to utilize peaches with yellow red-veined flesh, which enables to manufacture heavier flavorful puree. In addition, Ukrainian processors also prefer imported puree thanks to its sweeter taste.
