Ukraine: prices of high-quality apples higher than in April 2013
The Ukrainian market participants say of an increase in growers' prices for apples thanks to a rapid decrease in stocks and stable demand for produce.
Apples from CA-storage are in highest demand now, and their prices reach UAH 10/kg (EUR 0.63/kg).We would remind you that in the same period of the previous season prices were not higher than UAH 9/kg (EUR 0.56/kg).
Meanwhile, prices of nonstandard apples also grow. A week before, Ukrainian growers offered those apples at UAH 2.50/kg (EUR 0.16/kg) and higher. For the present, prices are not lower than UAH 4/kg (EUR 0.25/kg).
The price growth is also backed by a significant decrease in imports from Poland connected with the devaluation of Ukrainian hryvnia.
