Poland: demand for export-quality apples up
Polish growers say of an increase in exporters' demand for apples.
Mutsu, Champion, Golden Delicious, Ligol, Jonared and Gloster varieties are in highest demand now.
Purchase volumes of Idared apples are also growing, while the demand for those apples was rather moderate before the beginning of April. Nevertheless, prices of Idared apples are lower compared with other varieties. For the present, their prices vary between 0.21-0.39 euro/kg, while Golden Delicious apples are offered at 0.29-0.46 euro/kg.
In general, the apple price range is rather wide in Poland: 0.21-0.50 euro/kg, depending on variety, quality and size. We would remind you that apple prices in the same period of the previous season were similar to the current levels.
