Armenia: fruit and berry production to fall by a quarter in 2014
Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia expects fruit and berry production to total 250,000-258,000 tons in 2014 against 338,100 tons a year before.
A decrease in production is connected with a cold spell in March: abundant snowfall on March 30th together with strong wind and a significant fall in temperature led to considerable losses to Armenian agriculture estimated at about $27 mln.
According to the Ministry's data, the total affected area has amounted to 9,185 ha.
