According to Fruit-Inform daily price monitoring, strawberries have become less expensive at Ukrainian wholesale markets compared with the previous week.
The highest prices are still reported by Crimean market operators: strawberries are offered at UAH 40/kg (EUR 2.42/kg) at Krymskiy Privoz Wholesale Market, Simferopol, a decrease of 20% compared with the previous week and an increase of 30-35% compared with the mid-May 2013.
Sellers at Shuvar Wholesale Market, Lviv, ship strawberries at UAH 19-21/kg (EUR 1.15-1.27/kg), a decrease of 20% week-on-week and year-on-year.
Meanwhile, prices at Kopani Wholesale Market, Kherson Region, decreased by 25% compared with the previous week and now average UAH 30/kg (EUR 1.81/kg). Compared with the same period of the previous season, prices doubled there.
The most significant week-on-week decrease in prices was registered at Ozerka Wholesale Market, Dnipropetrovsk, where the price levels now average UAH 25/kg (EUR 1.51/kg), half as high as registered a week before. However, current strawberry prices at Ozerka Wholesale Market are similar to last year's levels.
