Russia: prices of French apples in Saint Petersburg down year-on-year
The Russian market participants say of a year-on-year decrease in prices of French apples in Saint Petersburg.
Granny Smith apples are offered now at 1.02-1.35 euro/kg, depending on fruit size and quality, a decrease of 15% compared with late May 2013.
Prices of Golden Delicious apples of French origin fell by 18-24% to 0.89-0.97 euro/kg.
Most significant decrease in prices was registered in the segment of French Red Chief apples. They are offered now at 1.16-1.33 euro/kg that is 40-45% lower compared with the same period of the previous season.
