Ukraine: apples mostly sold through retail chains in June
Retail chains are the main purchasers of apples in Ukraine now and buy those fruits to expand their assortment.
Meanwhile, other market participants are not interested in apples in view of relatively low consumption of those fruits now: seasonal fruits and berries are in highest demand, while apple sales remain moderate.
In view of those developments, apple prices have been stable in Ukraine since the beginning of this month and vary between UAH 5-12/kg (EUR 0.42-1.00/kg), depending on quality, variety and country of origin. We would remind you that in the second half of June 2013 apple prices were higher in Ukraine: UAH 9/kg (EUR 0.75/kg) and higher.
