Poland quintuples apple exports to Kazakhstan in August

According to Fruit-Inform, Poland has more than quintupled exports of apples to Kazakhstan in August 2014 compared with the same month of the previous year. Kazakhstan's imports exceeded 2,000 tons.

Poland's cumulative exports of apples to Kazakhstan over the first two months of the current season totaled 6,000 tons, twice as high as in the same period of the previous season. As a result, Poland was the leading exporter of apples to Kazakhstan with the share of 46% in Kazakhstans' total imports.

The market experts believe that Kazakhstan will most likely become one of the main alternative export markets for apples from the EU and Moldova under conditions of Russia's ban on imports. Furthermore, a significant part of apples imported by Kazakhstan will then be re-exported to Russia.
