Further increase in Ukrainian fresh produce price index
Fruit-Inform Ukrainian fresh produce price index went up by 5.6% last week, after an increase of 7.2% a week before.
«Growth in the fresh produce price index was registered mainly thanks to a rise of more than 50% in cucumber prices, which was not compensated by a slight decrease in prices of tomatoes», says Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform.
At the same time, fruits became less expensive in the majority of cases. Prices of mandarins and oranges went down in expectation of arrival of new crop from Turkey. Lemons became slightly more expensive, and apple prices were stable thanks to high domestic supply in the market.
