Indonesia considers bigger supplies of fruits to Russian market
Indonesia considers bigger supplies of fresh and tinned fruits to the Russian market. Russia’s Minister of Economic Development Alexai Ulyukayev discussed further cooperation with Indonesia’s Minister of Trade Rahmat Gobel, the Russian ministry said on Sunday.
The Russian minister said from 2009 the trade turnover between Russia and Indonesia tripled and reached almost $3 billion in 2013. The countries set the target to raise the level of bilateral trade from 3 to 5 billion dollars within next two years.
According to Fruit-Inform, Indonesia has supplied no fresh and tinned fruits to Russia over the past 5 years. As the official Russian statistics show, Indonesia shipped mainly frozen vegetables and nuts to Russia with the largest exports registered in the previous season: 8,000 tons valued at $11 mln.
