Poland doubles pear exports to Kazakhstan
Poland has doubled its presence in the Kazakh pear market, according to the official statistics. Kazakhstan has imported almost 2,000 tons of Polish pears in the period from July 2014 to May 2015 against just 1,000 tons in the same period of the previous season.
It should be noted that Poland has improved its position among Kazakhstan's top pear suppliers: Poland ranked fourth after Belgium, the Netherlands and Kyrgyzstan.
The market experts also say that Kazakhstan has significantly raised pear imports from all countries of the European Union: the import volumes totaled 14,000 tons, almost twice as high as a year before. Such a sharp increase in imports is connected with Russia's ban on shipments of foodstuffs from the EU. As a result of the ban, a significant part of pears shipped from the EU to Kazakhstan was then re-exported to Russia.
We would remind you that more detailed information about the Eastern European apple market developments will be presented at the 5th International Conference «Apple Business of Ukraine-2015», which is going to take place on August 13-14, Kleopatra Hotel, Kamyanets-Podilskyi, Ukraine.
