Poland: prices of Paula Red apples up year-on-year

The Polish market participants say of a gradual increase in the supply of domestic Paula Red apples. According to growers, the demand for their produce is rather high, and prices are averagely 20% higher year-on-year.

Current prices of Paula Red apples are not lower than 0.19 euro/kg with prices of export-quality produce reaching 0.29 euro/kg. For comparison, those apples were offered at 0.17-0.21 euro/kg in the same period of the previous season.

The market operators connect a year-on-year increase in prices with exporters' high demand for apples in Poland. Even under conditions of Russia's ban on imports, Russian companies remain the key buyers of Polish apples, which are shipped to the Russian Federation through third countries.
