Kazakhstan raises imports of Moldovan apples
Moldova has been actively expanding its presence in the Kazakh apple market, according to Fruit-Inform.
Kazakh importers have purchased 2,000 tons of Moldovan apples in September 2015, an increase of 34% year-on-year. Moreover, Kazakhstan's imports of apples from Moldova in the period from July to September 2015 totaled 3,400 tons, a rise of 31% year-on-year.
Fruit-Inform analysts say that Kazakhstan still depends on apple imports despite active growth in domestic production of these fruits. Imported apples account for the share of about 80% in the Kazakh market, and imports are rather high even during domestic harvesting campaign.
