Ukraine rapidly increases tomato exports to EU
Ukraine has been rapidly increasing its tomato exports to the EU countries, according to Fruit-Inform.
In January-October 2015, Ukrainian tomato exports to the EU have almost reached 4,000 tons against insignificant export volumes in the same period of the previous season. About a half of those volumes were shipped to Poland.
At the same time, Belarus is the leading export market for Ukrainian tomatoes with the share of 75% in Ukraine's total exports. Ukraine has shipped about 15,000 tons of produce to the Belarusian market with the largest part of those volumes having been allegedly re-exported to Russia.
Nevertheless, unability to ship to Russia directly has negatively affected exports to Ukrainian tomatoes: total exports amounted to about 20,000 tons, half as high as in the same period of the previous season.
More detailed information about the Ukrainian tomato market developments and trends will be presented at the 12th International Conference «Fruits & Vegetables of Ukraine-2015. Reload» (December 1-3, Kiev, Ukraine).
The conference will also host the 5th International Trade Forum which involves more than 20 Ukrainian supermarket chains and leading importers ready to negotiate with fruit and vegetable suppliers.
Conference draft program, more detailed information about the events, participation conditions, advertising opportunities and sponsorship packages are available on the official web-site. To register your participation, please fill out the following application form.
