Ukraine increases exports of apple juice concentrate
Ukraine has been rapidly raising its exports of apple juice concentrate (AJC), according to Fruit-Inform.
Ukrainian exports totaled 30,000 tons in the period from July to October 2015, an increase of 70% year-on-year. For comparison, the export volumes totaled just 18,000 tons in the first 4 months of the season 2014/15.
The EU countries (Poland and Austria in particular) were the main importers of Ukrainian AJC. The sector analysts connect such a sharp rise in exports with the fact that in the current season many European manufacturers have chosen Ukraine as the place for their main production facilities in view of lower manufacturing costs there.
