Russia accounts for about 80% of Georgian total mandarin exports
Russia is the main export market for Georgian mandarins with the share of slightly lower than 80% of total exports, according to Business. Georgia.
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, as of December 10, the country has exported 9,200 tons of mandarins with 7,300 tons having Russia as their destination. The Russian Federation was followed by Ukraine (1,200 tons), Armenia (396 tons), Azerbaijan (141 tons), Kazakhstan (130 tons), Belarus (81 tons) and other countries (15 tons).
There were 40 packing stations opened in the production regions to guarantee high quality of exported citrus fruits.
In addition, another 1,700 tons of mandarins were processed by three enterprises in the western part of Georgia.
Harvested volumes of mandarins totaled about 11,000 tons as of December 10 with total Georgian mandarin production expected to total 115,000 tons this year.
