Crimean growers start their sweet cherry season
Crimean growers have started selling their first volumes of sweet cherries this week, according to Fruit-Inform.
For the present, the supply of cherries is limited, and their prices vary between RUB 180-250/kg (USD 2.13-2.96/kg), depending on quality.
It should be noted that there was no year-on-year delay in the start of the Crimean sweet cherry season. However, prices are significantly higher than a year before: sellers managed to sell their cherries at no higher than RUB 220/kg in the beginning of the previous season.
Farmers expect the supply to significantly grow by the beginning of June resulting in a decrease in prices.
