Ukraine: fruit and vegetable prices down week-on-week
Fruit-Inform Ukrainian fresh produce price index went down by 7.7% in the week from June 11th to 17th.
The most significant decrease in prices (-19.2%) was observed in the segment of traditional vegetables mainly thanks to growing supply of early produce. Furthermore, potato prices went down by 11.1%, and greenhouse vegetables became 11.9% less expensive.
Meanwhile, the price situation in the fruit segment was stable: a slight rise in berry prices was almost fully compensated by less expensive bananas and arrival of first volumes of apricots and raspberries. No cardinal changes were registered in the apple segment, and apple prices still were unsatisfactory low for domestic growers.
