MinAP is satisfied with quality of harvested grain

Ukraine's Deputy Agrarian Policy Minister Vasyl Serheyev said to a briefing, held in the ministry on July 15, that 80 percent of the wheat, harvested in the country as of the date, was food quality grain.

However, he said, the high quality parameters of harvested grain were being registered before the worsening of weather, and the current weather troubles (see the news item "Ukraine suspended harvesting works… of 13:01) might cause a certain drop in the quality of grain - e.g. reduction of the gluten content. Nevertheless, he said, the most important quality parameter - protein content - would not significantly change.

Another agriculture ministry official, present at the briefing, has said that according to preliminary estimates 48 percent of wheat, harvested in the Crimea and Odessa Oblast to the date, was qualified under 3rd class (top quality), and 33 percent - under 4th class (medium quality milling grain).
