Belarus: agricultural statistics showed a 5.7 pc production increase in Jan.-Jun. 2004

The volume of production of agricultural products in Belarus in the first half year of 2004 increased 5.7 percent from the same period last year, BelTA agency has informed. It said with reference to the Ministry for Statistics and Analysis that production in the country's state-controlled agricultural organisations had increased 9.9 percent over the 6 months.

It also informed that sales of animals and poultry for slaughter had increased 4 percent - to 347,500 tonnes, production of milk increased 16 percent - to 1.348 million tonnes, production of eggs had grown 2 percent over the six months - to 836.4 million.
