Cucumber prices rapidly down in Crimea
Cucumber prices have been rapidly falling at Crimean wholesale markets, according to Fruit-Inform.
Cucumbers have become averagely a third less expensive at Krymskiy Privoz Wholesale Market, Simferopol, over the past weekend and now are offered at RUB 15-40/kg (USD 0.23-0.62/kg), depending on variety and quality.
The market analysts connect such a price trend with abundant supply of produce in the Crimean market due to a sharp rise in shipments from Krasnodar Krai. In addition, sellers say of weaker purchasing activity, which also backs a fall in prices.
It should be noted that current prices of cucumbers are already 21% lower than those fixed in Crimea a year before.
