Onion prices in Poland a third lower than in Ukraine
Onion prices have been rapidly going down in Poland and now are averagely 30% lower than in Ukraine, according to Fruit-Inform.
Onion prices are now varying between 0.17-0.20 euro/kg in Poland, while Ukrainian growers are offering their produce at 0.24-0.29 euro/kg.
It should also be noted that onion prices are relatively stable in Ukraine but went down by 19-22% in Poland in the past weekend.
Polish farmers connect negative trend with a rather considerable increase in the supply of onions, as many farms managed to go on their harvesting campaign thanks to better weather conditions in the country.
Moreover, current prices of Polish onions are averagely 17% lower year-on-year, and the market participants expect a further decrease in them due to growing supply and stable demand.
