Poland: tomato prices half as high as a year before despite active exports
Polish growers are forced to reduce their tomato prices despite rather high demand for their produce shown by European importers. As a result, current prices are 44-47% lower year-on-year, according to Fruit-Inform.
Now prices of Polish tomatoes are varying between 0.27-0.35 euro/kg, a decrease of 5-10% week-on-week.
Polish growers are forced to reduce their prices due to abundant supply of both greenhouse and field-grown tomatoes in the Polish market. In addition, prices are under the pressure of rather moderate demand in the Polish internal market.
