Prices of apples for processing up in Poland
Prices of apples for processing have been growing in Poland, according to FreshMarket. As a result, they have increased by another 10% since the end of the past week.
In particular, current prices of apples for processing vary between 0.19-0.21 euro/kg, while a week before they stood at least at 0.16 euro/kg.
Polish processors are forced to raise their prices due to lack of supply of raw apples, as many farmers have focused on sales in the fresh market in view of rather active demand. Under those conditions, processors have to revise their purchase prices to meet their raw produce procurement plans.
As a result, current prices of Polish apples for processing are now 5.3 times as high as in the same period of the previous year and have already reached their record high.
