Prices of apples for processing again reach record high in Poland
Prices of apples for processing grew again in Poland and reached their new record high, according to FreshMarket.
Prices of raw apples have grown by another 5% just over the past weekend. Now growers are ready to ship those apples at 0.20-0.22 euro/kg, and some of them have already fixed prices at 0.23 euro/kg.
Positive trend is connected with lower supply of raw apples in Poland due to a decrease in production. Meanwhile, processors’ demand for apples is extremely high. As a result, processors’ current purchase prices are already 5.7 times as high as in the end of September 2016. Moreover, the market players expect prices of apples for processing to continue to go up, as the majority of Polish growers are focused on the fresh market.
