Ukraine's tomato exports up in August, cumulative volumes down
Ukraine managed to raise its tomato exports in August compared with the same month of 2016, according to Fruit-Inform.
The export volumes totaled 3,600 tons in August 2017, an increase of 20% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s cumulative exports over the period of January-August 2017 went down significantly and totaled just 12,000 tons, a fall of 29% compared with the same period of the previous year.
It should also be noted that exports went down with regards to almost all main partner countries. Belarus imported 10,600 tons of Ukrainian tomatoes in January-August 2017, a fall of 27% year-on-year, but still was the main importer of this product. Poland also remained the second largest importer with import volumes slightly exceeding 1,000 tons, a decrease of 42% year-on-year.
