Austria increases imports of apples for processing from Ukraine
Ukraine has more than tripled apple exports to Austria since the beginning of the season 2017/18, according to Fruit-Inform. It should be noted that the majority of volumes exported to Austria were represented by apples for processing.
Ukraine’s exports totaled 1,300 tons in July-September 2017 against just 377 tons in the same period of the previous year.
Ukraine’s total exports of apples changed slightly year-on-year and amounted to 2,800 tons. An increase in exports to Austria was offset by lower shipments to Belarus. In July-September 2017, Ukraine exported just 1,200 tons of apples to Belarus, half as high as in the same period of the previous season.
