Ukraine: cucumber prices 2.5 times as high as a year before
Ukrainian greenhouse growers manage to raise their cucumber prices, which are already 2.5 times as high as registered in the same period of the previous year, according to Fruit-Inform.
Ukrainian cucumbers have become 20-33% more expensive over the past week. As a result, their prices have already reached record high and now vary between UAH 40-42/kg (EUR 1.28-1.35/kg).
The market participants connect a rise in prices with the end of the season reported by the majority of domestic greenhouse farms. Meanwhile, imports from Turkey are still low and irregular due to bad weather conditions there.
