Russia: potato prices up
Russian farmers have raised their potato prices thanks to high demand. As a result, according to Fruit-Inform daily monitoring data, since the beginning of 2018, prices of Russian potatoes have grown by 10-14%.
Hence, farmers sell high-quality potatoes at RUB 8-16/kg ($0.14-0.28/kg), while prices of produce of lower quality stand at least at RUB 7/kg ($0.12/kg).
It is worth mentioning that current potato prices in the Russian market are 37% higher year-over-year. Moreover, many market players expect prices to continue to grow in Russia due to information about insufficient supply of potatoes in the Russian Federation.
